TRIO Teacher Preparation Program Scholarship
The Department of Student Access & Success Programs will award a limited number of TRIO Teacher Preparation Program scholarships to students who are successful applicants for 2026-2027. Scholarships are disbursed through the Office of Student Financial Aid based on full-time enrollment at NCCU, enrollment in the School of Education , and TRIO Teacher Preparation Program participation and involvement.
To qualify, you must complete the TRIO Teacher Preparation Program application and meet the following criteria:

• Meet one or more of the following criteria: (1) first-generation college student (2) limited-income (3) have a documented disability/diagnosis
• Enrolled in the School of Education
• Must receive Pell-Grant
• Have an unmet financial aid need (as defined by Financial Aid Department)
• Have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA
• Be enrolled at NCCU in a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours fall (or) spring or six (6) credit hours for summer
• Must attend Fall Orientation, Spring Orientation, Scholarship Celebration, & complete program requirements.
• Have attended a Financial Literacy Seminar/Workshop
• Must have had a minimum of 2 contacts with a program faculty/staff, or program component (Workshop, Social, Needs-Assessment form, etc.) before October 31st.
• Must continue involvement with the TRIO Teacher Preparation Program until graduation.
Award Amount: $750 – $1000
Amount of Award Recipients: 15-21
Completion of Scholarship Application does not guarantee selection. The Department of Student Access & Success Programs and TRIO Teacher Preparation Program reserves the right to award Scholarships based on program requirements, unmet financial need, program involvement, and academic standing.
