TMCF | Sour Patch Kids Mischief for Change HBCU Scholarship

Scholarship Overview

Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Sour Patch Kids are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending TMCF’s member schools that include 56 publicly-supported historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), historically Black community colleges (HBCCs), publicly Black institutions (PBIs), medical and law schools. Ten (10) scholars will be selected to receive a need-based scholarship of up to $16,400 for the 2025-2026 academic school year. The total eligible scholarship amount will be allocated in two installments: one during the Fall 2025 semester and the second during the Spring 2026 semester (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility Requirements:

Be a full-time enrolled student as an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior at a TMCF member-school during the 2025-2026 academic school year Open to all majors Current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher Must have the 2025-2026 FAFSA on file at your selected university/college by the time of selection Must be able to demonstrate a financial need Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551

Scholarship Allocation:

The eligible total amount will be funded in two disbursements for the 2025-2026 academic year, based on the conditions outlined in the scholar’s contract.

Mischief can be an incredible catalyst for social change. It often diffuses tension, challenges perceptions, and sparks meaningful dialogue. Describe a historical event where mischief or unconventional actions played a pivotal role in bringing about substantial social transformation.
