TMCF | United Health Foundation Scholarship Program (Cohort 3)

Scholarship Overview

Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), with support from the United Health Foundation, is proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Sixty (60) scholars will be selected to receive a renewable scholarship for up to four years, in the amount of $5,000 per year, beginning in the 2025-2026 academic school year. The United Health Foundation, the philanthropic arm of UnitedHealth Group, has made a $100 million commitment to provide scholarships and support to current and future health care professionals.

The total eligible scholarship amount will be disbursed as a single payment during the Fall 2025 semester (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate sophomore, junior, senior, graduate, and/or professional student at a HBCU during the 2025-2026 academic school year Students must have at least two years of study remaining before their anticipated degree completion date Open to students pursuing degrees (associate, bachelor, master, doctorate) that will lead to careers as clinical professionals that may include: Physician Physician Assistant Nurse Practitioner Certified Nurse Midwife Nurse, Pharmacist, Dentist Social Worker Addiction Counselor Clinical Psychologist or related clinical profession Current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher Must have a completed 2025-2026 FAFSA on file at your selected university/college by the time of selection Must be able to demonstrate a financial need Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551

Scholarship Allocation:

The eligible total amount will be funded in one disbursement for the 2025-2026 academic year, based on the conditions outlined in the scholar’s contract.
