2025-2026 LeBlanc/Baker Scholarship for Change

Administered by UNCF, the LeBlanc/Baker Scholarship for Change provides a renewable need-based scholarship of up to $4,000 annually to male students who will attend an accredited, four-year Historically Black College or University (“HBCU”) in the fall of the 2025-2026 academic year.

Application Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for the Program must meet the following criteria:

Be a male. Be a graduating high school senior of a Washington, District of Columbia Public School at the time of application submission. Possess a minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 2.0 but not higher than 3.0 on a 4.0 point scale at the time of application. Who will be enrolled full-time for the 2025-2026 academic year at any accredited UNCF Member Institution, or other accredited four-year HBCU. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (“FAFSA”) form. Have a demonstrated unmet financial need as verified by their college or university.

Submitted applications must include the following:

1. UNCF online program application.

2. Essay – a one page personal statement of academic interest.

3. Current fall 2024 term high school transcript.

Applicants must submit all application materials by March 31, 2025. A system generated email confirmation receipt will be sent to applicants who have completed and submitted the application by the deadline.

LeBlanc/Baker Scholarship for Change award recipients will receive a 2025-2026 academic year award of up to $4,000 based on need. UNCF will send electronic notification to the eligible recipients in April 2025; and scholarship funds will be disbursed to the eligible recipients’ enrolled institutions in the fall 2025.
