Pursuing Academics with Support (“PAWS”) Scholarship

Pursuing Academics with Support (PAWS) scholarship was established by Mars Petcare US, Inc., a Delaware Corporation, in partner with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). Pursuing Academics with Support (PAWS) scholarship provided a need-based scholarship award to Black/African American students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a STEM career field at any accredited, four-year, U.S. located institution.

Selected scholarship recipients will receive up to $10,000 for the 2024-2025 academic year. Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
1. Currently enrolled full-time as college junior or senior at any accredited U.S. located four-year college or university in the current academic year of 2024-2025.
2. Currently enrolled in a Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics academic discipline.
3. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
4. Complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (“FAFSA”) form and have a demonstrated, unmet financial need as verified by the applicant’s college or university.

Application Requirements
Submit a completed online application.
Submit essay on their personal statement of career interest.
Submit an official or unofficial current academic transcript.
