Dr. Norman B. Anderson Endowed Scholarship Fund

The recipient(s) shall be determined by the Scholarship Committee of North Carolina Central University. The Scholarship Committee shall apply the following criteria in the selection of the scholarship recipient(s). This scholarship shall be limited to a single student until such time as the Fund can support additional awards.  This scholarship fund shall provide an annual scholarship to a student or students as follows: The principal intent of this scholarship is to support a student with significant financial need who is majoring in psychology, student applicants must be enrolled in one of the degree granting programs of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, student applicants may be a sophomore, junior or senior, students must have a 3.5 or better GPA, other areas of that should be considered by the Dean of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences when making a recommendation to the Scholarship Committee regarding selection: 1. Preference should be given to students who also have an interest in research on the the interaction of behavioral and biological processes, racial and ethnic or socioeconomic health disparities, or some other relevant area of psychological research. Students should voice an interest in attending graduate school to obtain a PhD in Psychology or in a medical science area 3. Retention of underrepresented abd underserved minorities (particularly males) matriculating at the University
