Vernon Clark Endowed Scholarship

Part I: The undergraduate scholarship will support students enrolled in a four-year Allied Health Program who represent underserved populations. Applicants must possess a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and may not carry more than one active incomplete on their transcript at the time of application. Recipients must have successfully completed 12 credit hours and may be enrolled on a full-time basis (12 credits or more) in the Allied Health Program.  It is recommended that potential candidates have completed freshman year studies. Applicants must have financial need as determined by the University, or present extenuating circumstances at the time of application.  An application for the scholarship must be completed each academic year and is not automatically renewable.  In addition to a scholarship application, applicants must submit a narrative, which includes a recent photo, a brief biography, and description of the circumstances that have created the need for aid.  Scholarship monies can be awarded for tuition, books and other types of education media (eg:  MCAT exam fees, preparation fees, field applications, and/or equipment). Part II:  There is also a Post Graduation Award for Medical Studies. Upon completion of a four-year degree at NCCU, the Scholarship Committee may award an amount up to $1,500 to assist a graduate to pursue further study in   medicine, dentistry, or pharmacy.  The award will be based on a grade point average of 3.4 or better and cumulative success in his or her major and minor.
