The Shelton Maurice Jones First Generation Endowed Scholarship Fund

The recipient(s) shall be determined by the Scholarship Committee of NCCU. The scholarship shall be limited to a single student until such time as the fund can support additional awards. This scholarship fund shall provide an annual scholarship to a student or students as follows: Recipient must be enrolled at NCCU, a first generation college student,must be a part of the historically underrepresented population in higher education, as represented by the name sake of this scholarship fund, first priority will be given to entering freshman with a 3.0 GPA or higher majoring in Mathematics. Recipients may be upper classmen majoring in Mathematics who have maintained a 3.0 or higher for the previous two semesters. Scholarship award(s) should support any if the following: tuition and fees, on-campus room and board, books and supplies. Recipient(s) shall be in good academic standing as defined by NC Central University and may apply for renewal of the scholarship if remaining in good standing with the University. The recipient shall demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
