Walter M and Ozzie F Brown Students in Distress Fund

The purpose of this endowment is to provide funds to assist students at North Carolina Central University when they present a case of dire financial need. The earnings (income) from this endowment can be disbursed to students who can prove short-term financial distress. Students must show proof of distress and/or emergency. Financial assistance shall not exceed $500and is limited to one per semester, not to exceed five (5) total grants to the same individual. Recommendation for an emergency need shall come from the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs or the Director of Scholarships and Student Aid. The North Carolina Central University Foundation shall administer assistance to students in distress as the funds are available from the endowment earnings of this fund.
